Begin your journey in the historic capital of the Inca Empire, explore the Sacred Valley’s archaeological treasures, and enjoy a magical visit to Machu Picchu—one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Then, venture into the Andes to witness the vibrant colors of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain), one of Peru’s most impressive natural formations. This itinerary blends history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes for an unforgettable travel experience.
Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel in the historic center of the city. This first day is dedicated to acclimatization, allowing you to walk through Cusco’s charming colonial streets, visit nearby squares, or simply rest. Adjusting to the altitude is essential to fully enjoy the upcoming tours.
You will be picked up from your hotel between 6:00 and 6:30 am to begin your journey through the Sacred Valley. The first stop is Chinchero, known for its ancient Inca palace and traditional textile workshops. Continue to Moray, the Inca agricultural laboratory with circular terraces, and then visit the impressive Maras Salt Mines, home to more than 5,000 salt pools. After a buffet lunch in Urubamba, visit the Ollantaytambo fortress before taking the train to Machu Picchu Town, where you will spend the night.
In the morning, board the bus to Machu Picchu for a 20–30 minute ride up the mountain. Enjoy a guided tour of 2 to 3 hours through the citadel’s temples, terraces, and iconic viewpoints. After exploring this world-famous wonder, return to Aguas Calientes for your train to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, a transfer will take you back to your hotel in Cusco for the night.
Begin your day with hotel pickup between 4:00 and 4:30 am. Travel to Cusipata for a semi-buffet breakfast before continuing to the trailhead. The hike to Rainbow Mountain takes approximately two hours and rewards you with breathtaking views of mineral-rich slopes glowing in shades of red, orange, yellow, and turquoise. After enjoying this natural masterpiece, descend for lunch in Cusipata and then return to Cusco, arriving around 5:30 pm.
On your final day, you will be transferred from your hotel to the Cusco airport to board your flight to Lima and connect with your international departure. This marks the end of your 5-day adventure through Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain.
